When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
This is one of my favorite Yogi Berra quotes or Yogi-isms as they’re called. It also has some relevance to the decisions RIAs need to make on technology and how it effects the efficiency and security of your firm. One such decision is overcoming the challenges associated with Legacy internet connectivity such as Expensive Bandwidth, single-function devices, and Rigid Architecture.

Without getting too technical, it’s the application of software-based network technologies that allow for a more effective and secure route for all network traffic between you and the cloud.
So back to Yogi and the fork in the road, think of SD-WAN as a ‘turnpike’ that allows you to get on the road and maintain a consistent and steady speed as opposed to a ‘state highway’ that includes driving though small towns that will slow you down and may even have a few stop lights, speed bumps, and even potholes along the ways. Both will get you to your destination but provide a very different experience.
