Regardless of how happy you are about the outcome of the presidential election, here’s a statement that we can all agree on…
Many more Americans know about cybersecurity than before the election.
The topic of cybersecurity has never been addressed so much in a presidential election, and continues to be a hot button issues as government agencies investigate Russian involvement in the election. While news stories surrounding cybersecurity tend to come as a result of a mishap, we think it’s about time that cybersecurity becomes a pressing matter! During this election, the topic of cybersecurity was a driving force. It brought the complex, widespread and hazardous nature of security breaches to the forefront for the American people and the world.
Whether we’re speaking on big terms or smaller ones, it reminded us that:
At RSS, we are relieved that cybersecurity has come further into the spotlight and will continue to be at the forefront of our nation’s efforts under the new administration. We are hopeful that cybersecurity will continue to gain attention.
Donald Trump recently announced his four-point cybersecurity strategy last month which we believe is a great starting point heading in the right direction.
To address our nation’s serious need, we are hopeful that there will be increased awareness, stricter security policies, quicker response to cyberattacks and more time and skill invested in prevention and defense against attacks. We are confident that the new administration will take cyber threats and defense more seriously than ever before and eager to see the shift towards heightened online security take place.
